“I don't do the blank-slate thing. You'll get a real human who believes you, who might share something random that comes to me in session, and who will remind you, as many times as you need: you're not too much.”

What therapy with us is like
You don't need to be in crisis to begin. Maybe you're overwhelmed, or carrying something you can't name yet. Maybe a church, a family, or a relationship left you questioning what was real, and questioning yourself. Therapy is a place to slow down and make sense of it with someone who won't minimize what happened.
We won't ask you to be anywhere other than exactly where you are. We don't do the "blank slate" thing; we show up as humans. We also respect your right to your own beliefs and values: faith, doubt, or somewhere in between. You choose what we work on, and what waits.
We draw on what fits you: EMDR, Polyvagal Theory, parts work, and family-systems thinking, always with deep respect for what your body has been carrying. It isn't always tidy. Sometimes it gets messier before it gets clearer. When it does, we'll hold onto hope with you, and for you when you can't.

“
When I accept myself just as I am, then I can change.
Less about fixing you, more about getting to know you.
We both work with parts language: the idea that you're not one tangled mess but a whole inner family, where every part is trying to help. The worrier, the one that goes numb, the one that keeps everyone happy. Colby likes to say therapy is a lot like clearing out an overstuffed storage room. The parts are the ones who packed it, and they had good reasons.
Things come out.
When we slow down, what's been packed away starts to surface. It can feel worse before it feels better. That's normal, and we'll tell you so up front.
We meet the protectors.
The part that stays busy, the part that shuts down, the part that criticizes. We don't fight them. We get curious about what they've been protecting.
It takes the time it takes.
Some sessions feel like breakthroughs; most are quieter. When you can't see how change is possible, we hold onto hope with you, or for you.
Your people feel it too.
As your parts settle, it touches your relationships. Safe, trusted people often become part of the work.
More room to breathe.
Not every box sorted. More of you leading with clarity, compassion, and agency, and the freedom to begin again.
One part at a time. And that's okay.

Therapy may help if…
- You feel overwhelmed, and life is moving at a pace you can't keep up with.
- You're carrying grief, anxiety, or a transition that's bigger than you expected.
- Relationships keep landing you in the same painful patterns.
- Faith, church, or family left you questioning what was real, and questioning yourself.
- You've been told you're "too much" or "too sensitive," and part of you started to believe it.
Something else might come first if…
- You're in immediate danger or crisis right now (please call or text 988, or 911).
- You need a higher level of care, like intensive outpatient or medical support.
- You're hoping for focused trauma processing in a short window; an intensive may fit better.
If you're not sure, reach out anyway. We'll help you find the right starting place, even if it isn't with us.
